There is a short list of vendors we work with at Scarborough House who genuinely feel like family. Michelle Wetsch is on that list.

Her business, Chelle's Cakes by Michelle Wetsch, has been part of weddings here since early on, and every time we see her name on a timeline, we breathe a little easier. That is not something we say about many vendors.

What She Does

Michelle makes wedding cakes, cupcakes, dessert bars, and custom sweet treats for celebrations across Wilson, Raleigh, Greenville, and Eastern North Carolina. She works with each couple individually to design desserts that fit their vision, their flavors, and the vibe of their day.

A two-tier naked cake with fresh flowers for a garden ceremony. A towering five-tier fondant piece for a black-tie ballroom night. A dessert bar with assorted cupcakes, cake pops, and a small cutting cake for a laid-back outdoor reception. Michelle has done all of it, and done it beautifully.

Her cakes taste as good as they look. We know because we have eaten them. More than once.

Why We Trust Her

Delivering a wedding cake to an outdoor venue in North Carolina is not easy. The heat alone can be a problem. Buttercream and August afternoons do not always get along. Add in a gravel driveway, a delivery window that may shift, and a venue with very specific refrigeration logistics, and you start to understand why the baker choice matters so much.

Michelle understands all of this. She shows up on time, she communicates in advance, and she handles the unexpected without drama. At a venue like Scarborough House, where the whole wedding weekend is happening at once and the timeline is always moving, having vendors who can adapt is everything.

She has never once given us a reason to worry.

A True Collaborator

The word we keep coming back to when we talk about Michelle is collaborative. She does not just show up and do her job in isolation. She communicates with the couple, she coordinates with us, and she treats the day as a team effort.

That matters more than most couples realize when they are in the planning phase. On the day itself, you want vendors who are working together, not just working in parallel. Michelle is the former. She brings a calm, professional energy that makes the whole day better.

We have referred her to couples from the Raleigh area, from Eastern NC, and from out of state. Every single one of them has come back happy.

Thank You, Michelle

We want to take a moment to say something publicly that we do not always say loudly enough: thank you.

Thank you for the dozens of weekends you have poured your craft into. Thank you for the late-night texts when a couple changes their mind about flavors three weeks out. Thank you for treating every cake like it is the only one you are making, even when you have three more the following weekend.

You are one of the reasons couples leave Scarborough House saying the day was perfect. And we do not forget that.

Book Her for Your Wedding

If you are planning a wedding at Scarborough House or anywhere in Eastern North Carolina, we cannot recommend Michelle Wetsch highly enough. She is Tier 1 on our preferred vendor list for a reason, and that designation is not something we hand out easily.

You can reach her at [email protected] to start a conversation about your wedding desserts.

And if you are still looking for the venue itself, we would love to show you around. Schedule a private tour or explore our pricing to see what a full wedding weekend at Scarborough House looks like.
