Plan a Wedding Weekend Beyond the Reception

A wedding weekend gives guests more time together, but a longer booking does not need a packed itinerary. Choose a few gathering points, leave room for rest and check which amenities and activities are available before putting them on the schedule.

Build the plan around overnight guests

Scarborough House has 13 bedrooms sleep 28 overnight guests in standard bedroom beds. One bonus twin in an open, non-bedroom area above the carport brings the fixed total to 29. That is a lodging count, not event attendance, and not every guest will stay on site. See the lodging overview and plan transportation for everyone else.

Start with arrival, a meal or welcome gathering, the ceremony and reception, then a simple departure plan. Share the schedule and addresses in advance. Make activities optional, especially for guests with children or long travel days.

Confirm which amenities can be used

The property includes a pool and fire pits, but ask the venue about current rules, hours, safety requirements and what is included for your date. Do not assume a fire-pit gathering or another activity is part of the package without written confirmation.

For activities involving equipment, staff, vendors or additional insurance, get venue approval before inviting guests to participate. This includes outdoor sports, movie setups, food service or shooting activities. A photograph of a past event does not show that an activity is currently offered or available with every booking.

Use the evening sound cutoff in your timeline

Thinking about touring? Most couples know within the first ten minutes on the grounds. See tour times or check pricing first.

Amplified sound at Scarborough House ends at 11 PM. Plan the DJ or band schedule to finish by then, followed by a quieter gathering. A small Bluetooth speaker is different from amplified entertainment, but confirm the exact plan with the venue. Porch conversation or a fire-pit gathering may continue if current venue rules and conditions allow it.

Keep the plan practical

Why a wedding weekend matters and weekend versus traditional weddings explore the format. During a Scarborough House tour, ask what activities fit your booking and how the 11 PM sound cutoff affects the evening. Put confirmed details in writing.
