Another Five-Star Review: A Warm Welcome at Scarborough House
Another five-star Google review for Scarborough House!
We stayed at Scarborough House through Harvest Hosts while traveling in our motorhome and absolutely loved this property! The owners were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Scarborough House would be an amazing wedding or event venue - a true one stop shop with onsite accommodations, multiple ceremony spaces, a beautiful pavilion, pool & pool house, and plenty of gorgeous acreage to enjoy. Beautiful property, wonderful hosts, and such a special place for bringing people together and making memories!

This guest's review describes a Harvest Hosts visit while traveling in a motorhome. Their comments about wedding possibilities are a visitor's impression of the property, not a review of hosting a wedding or sleeping in the estate's bedrooms.
Another five-star Google review, and another reason to invite you out to Scarborough House. Jennifer Saine discovered the property through Harvest Hosts while traveling in her motorhome. Her review celebrates a warm welcome, a beautiful setting, and the possibilities she could see for bringing people together. That is a visitor's perspective worth sharing with couples and families searching for an estate venue in eastern North Carolina.
Jennifer did not review a wedding she hosted here. She visited the property and pictured what a wedding or event could look like. Her comments give us a useful starting point for a different question: when you tour a venue, what should you look for beyond the ceremony backdrop?
A warm welcome is part of the venue experience
One of the first things Jennifer mentions is how welcome the owners made her feel. A venue search can involve beautiful photographs, package descriptions, and a long list of practical questions. Meeting the people behind the property helps connect those pieces. You can explain what matters to your family, ask about something that a photograph does not show, and decide whether you feel comfortable planning your celebration here.
When you visit, bring your actual priorities rather than a checklist copied from someone else's wedding. You might care most about keeping close relatives nearby, finding a ceremony setting you love, or understanding where people will gather between the formal parts of the day. A private tour gives those questions a place in the conversation. Jennifer's experience reminds us that hospitality matters alongside buildings and outdoor spaces.
Look at the gathering spaces as a whole
Jennifer's review names several features together: on-site accommodations, ceremony spaces, the pavilion, and the pool and pool house. She saw possibilities across the property rather than focusing on one photograph. That is a helpful way to approach your own venue visit. Look at how the parts of your celebration would relate to each other, and ask which areas would be included in your specific arrangements.
The Magnolia Pavilion is a covered outdoor gathering space. Covered does not mean an indoor ballroom or a guarantee against weather. During your tour, ask how your plans would work in the season you are considering and what preparations would suit the forecast and your event. Seeing the setting yourself is more useful than assuming a roof answers every weather question.
Before visiting, browse the Scarborough House photo gallery and note the spaces that catch your eye. Then ask to understand their relationship to the rest of the estate. A picture can show a setting beautifully; a walk through the property helps you imagine your family actually using it.
On-site lodging now accommodates up to 29 overnight guests
For families considering a wedding weekend, lodging deserves its own conversation. Scarborough House has 13 bedrooms, with total on-site sleeping capacity for up to 29 overnight guests including an additional bonus sleeping space. That is an overnight capacity, not the number of people who can attend a wedding or other celebration, and it is not a claim that there are 29 individual beds.
The distinction matters when you are deciding who would stay on the property. Think about households, room sharing, and which relatives would prefer their own space. A bedroom count alone does not tell you how an arrangement will suit your group. Start with the lodging information, then bring your questions about sleeping arrangements to a tour.
Jennifer's motorhome visit is separate from these bedroom arrangements. We are sharing the current lodging information for people planning a celebration, not suggesting that she stayed in one of the estate's bedrooms. If overnight accommodation is a reason you are considering Scarborough House, ask about the details for your own event rather than assuming every kind of visit has the same terms.
Plan for people, not just a capacity number
Thinking about touring? Most couples know within the first ten minutes on the grounds. See tour times or check pricing first.
It is easy to ask how many people a venue holds and stop there. A better conversation separates event attendance from overnight accommodation and asks how your group would use the spaces. The relatives staying on the estate may be only part of your celebration. Other people may join you for the event without staying overnight.
Our guest-capacity guide explains those distinctions. For your own plans, consider who needs a bedroom, what your event layout should accomplish, and what arrangements need confirming with the venue. Do not use the capacity selection attached to an individual visitor's Google review as the estate's maximum event capacity. That field describes their visit, not a complete venue specification.
Make room for the practical questions
The appeal of an estate setting is easier to understand when you have time to explore it. The practical details deserve that same attention. If music is important to your celebration, discuss your plans during the tour. Amplified sound must end at 11 PM. If pool time is part of what you are picturing, remember that the pool is for overnight guests and ask how that relates to your group.
For wedding couples, the weekend package runs Friday through Sunday. Confirm what applies to your own booking, including the spaces and arrangements you need, rather than treating a visitor review as a package description. A review helps you identify questions and get a feel for a place; your own conversation establishes what you are planning.
Considering venues from Raleigh, Durham, Wilson, or Greenville?
Scarborough House is in Stantonsburg, North Carolina, near Wilson. If you are exploring venues from Raleigh, Durham, Wilson, or Greenville, look at the location in relation to the people who would be traveling for your celebration. On-site accommodation may be one part of that discussion, particularly when you want close family to stay together.
You can find the property through a Google Maps listing search. That is a way to locate the estate, not a direct link to Jennifer's individual review. Pair the location information with the gallery and lodging details, then come see whether the setting fits the gathering you have in mind.
Thank you, Jennifer, for the five-star review and for seeing the possibilities here. If your own celebration needs a welcoming estate setting and a conversation about staying together, schedule a private tour of the estate. We would love to show you around Scarborough House and answer the questions that matter to your family.
