We hosted an amazing 3-day weekend family reunion here over Labor Day weekend. The reunion committee stayed on site which helped execute the multiple day event. The venue is beautiful abd spacious. We brought in a speakers and used a combination of live music and playlist. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this space and would definitely come back.

Scarborough House has earned another five-star review on Google, this time from a guest who brought her extended family together for a multi-day weekend reunion. The review highlights a gathering that stretched across several days, with the reunion committee staying on site to help manage the event from start to finish. It is a reminder that this historic estate in Stantonsburg, North Carolina, serves more than one kind of celebration, and that families searching for a spacious, memorable setting near Wilson, Raleigh, Durham, or Greenville have reason to take a closer look.
The reviewer described a weekend that combined live music with a curated playlist, filling the grounds with sound and energy that suited a family reunion. She noted that the space felt both beautiful and spacious enough to accommodate a large group comfortably over several days. That kind of feedback is useful for anyone picturing their own gathering here, whether it is a reunion, a milestone birthday, or a wedding weekend.
What This Review Tells Prospective Hosts
Reviews like this one offer a window into how the estate functions for groups who need more than a single day. The review specifically says the reunion committee stayed on site to help execute the multiple-day event. It does not tell us how many other relatives lodged here. For families weighing whether Scarborough House fits their needs, this kind of extended stay is worth asking about directly, since not every visit includes the same length of access or the same package structure.
The reviewer's experience reflects her own past stay. Current lodging details, available spaces, and policies should always be confirmed directly with the venue rather than assumed from someone else's visit, since arrangements can vary by event type and date.
Lodging and Capacity Basics
Scarborough House includes 13 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 29 overnight guests in total, which includes a bonus sleeping space in addition to the standard bedrooms. That distinction matters when families or wedding parties are mapping out who stays where, since the total guest count is not the same as a simple bed count. Anyone planning a multi-night stay should review the guest capacity details closely and ask how sleeping arrangements are typically organized across the bedrooms and bonus space.
For couples specifically considering a wedding weekend, the venue offers a Friday through Sunday package, though it is important to understand that not every guest stay, including the reunion described in this review, follows that same structure. Details on what the weekend package includes can be found on the weekend wedding pricing page, and it is a good idea to ask on a tour whether a multi-day stay like a reunion follows similar terms or a different arrangement entirely.
Outdoor Spaces and Shared Amenities
Thinking about touring? Most couples know within the first ten minutes on the grounds. See tour times or check pricing first.
The estate's covered outdoor Magnolia Pavilion and dedicated ceremony spaces are often central to how groups use the property, whether for a wedding ceremony, a reunion gathering, or another kind of celebration. Families and couples planning music, speeches, or other amplified sound should ask specifically about the venue's policy, since amplified sound must end by 11 PM when it is part of the event. This is a practical detail that affects how an evening is paced, especially for multi-day events where energy and noise levels need to be managed across several nights rather than just one.
The pool is available to overnight guests, which can be a meaningful detail for families with children or guests who want downtime between group activities. Anyone picturing a similar reunion or wedding weekend should ask how pool access is typically coordinated among larger groups staying across the 13 bedrooms.
Questions Worth Asking Before You Book
Every celebration has different needs, so it helps to come prepared with specific questions rather than general ones. Consider asking:
- How does the estate typically structure multi-day stays for reunions versus the Friday through Sunday wedding package?
- What are the expectations around amplified sound, live music, and the 11 PM cutoff if evening entertainment is part of the plan?
- How are the 13 bedrooms and the bonus sleeping space usually divided among larger groups reaching the 29 overnight guest maximum?
- What does pool access look like for overnight guests, particularly for families with children or mixed generations?
- How far in advance should a group confirm details for a multi-day event compared to a single-day celebration?
These questions are not meant to replace a conversation with the venue, but rather to help guide one. A tour is the best place to get specific, current answers rather than relying on assumptions from a single review.
Seeing the Estate for Yourself
Photos and reviews can only go so far in conveying what it feels like to walk the grounds of a property with roots back to 1821. The photo gallery offers a visual sense of the ceremony spaces, the pavilion, and the overall estate setting, but nothing replaces an in-person visit to understand the flow between indoor and outdoor areas, the layout of the bedrooms, and how a group of your size might actually move through the space over a multi-day stay.
For those researching options across central North Carolina, including Raleigh, Durham, Wilson, and Greenville, it can also help to look up the estate directly through a Google listing search to see its location relative to your own travel plans and to read additional guest feedback over time.
If a multi-day family reunion, a wedding weekend, or another extended celebration is part of your planning, the clearest next step is to see the estate in person. You can review general lodging information on the lodging page and then schedule a visit through the tour page to ask your specific questions, walk the grounds, and decide whether Scarborough House is the right setting for your own gathering.
