Can Wedding Guests Use the Pool? Overnight-Guest Rules

A pool can be part of a wedding weekend only within the venue's actual access rules. At Scarborough House, pool access is for overnight guests staying on the property. A wedding invitation, wedding-party role, or reception ticket does not grant pool access to someone who is not staying overnight at the estate.

Who may use the pool?

The pool is a residence amenity for guests sleeping on the property. It is not rented for private events or day use. Do not advertise it as a welcome-party, cocktail-hour, or reception activity, and do not tell all wedding attendees to bring swimsuits. Guests who are not staying on property should not plan to swim.

Keep lodging plans separate from event attendance. Scarborough House has 13 bedrooms sleep 28 overnight guests in standard bedroom beds, plus one twin in an open bonus area, for 29 fixed overnight bed spaces. These are overnight bed counts, not an event capacity or permission for every wedding guest to use the pool. The guest-capacity guide explains the distinction.

Plan downtime, not a pool event

For the overnight guests, treat swimming as personal downtime during the stay, not a scheduled group event or a substitute reception space. Agree in advance who is actually staying at the estate, share the venue's pool rule with that group, and keep off-property guests out of the pool area. For current pool details and the full rules, read the official Scarborough House pool page.

Keep basic safety boundaries clear

Thinking about touring? Most couples know within the first ten minutes on the grounds. See tour times or check pricing first.

These are practical planning reminders, not a statement about lifeguard service, pool capacity, water depth, or hours. Confirm any detail you need directly with the venue.

A narrow wedding-night exception

The pool page describes one limited exception: the couple may take a private moment in the pool on their wedding night when they have rented the entire estate and are staying on the property. This does not make the pool available to their wedding party or other attendees.

If on-site lodging is important to your plans, start with the current lodging information, then ask the venue which guests will be staying at the estate and what pool directions apply to your dates. Keep the pool off the event schedule unless the venue confirms otherwise.
