What a pop up wedding actually is

Wedding venues that book one wedding per weekend, like we do, live and die by the calendar. When a couple books a Saturday, that whole weekend is gone for everyone else. And once in a while, life happens: plans change, a couple moves their date, and a prime weekend that was locked away for a year suddenly reopens.

That reopened date is the pop up. It pops back onto the calendar, usually months out instead of the year and a half most couples plan around. The venue would rather see it filled with a wedding than sit empty, so it comes with a real discount attached. Nothing about the wedding itself is smaller. Both dates are the full wedding weekend experience: the whole estate from Friday afternoon through Sunday brunch, all five ceremony sites, the pavilion, the pool, the fire pits, and sleeps 28 overnight guests in standard bedroom beds, plus one bonus twin for 29 fixed overnight bed spaces across 13 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Why $1,776? Because this house has been standing since roughly 1821, a stagecoach stop when the country was barely fifty years old, and America's 250th birthday felt like the right excuse to do something memorable with the number. Also because a discount you can remember is more fun than ten percent.
