Who Gets a Bed? The Hidden Hotel Cost in Your Wedding Budget
Here is a question no venue quote answers: where does everyone sleep?
Your parents. Your bridal party. Your college roommate who flew in from Denver. Somebody has to figure that out, and somebody has to pay for it. Usually that somebody is you, or the people you love most.
The math nobody shows you
Say 40 of your guests need rooms. Around here a decent hotel runs $120 to $180 a night. Two nights for 20 rooms is $4,800 to $7,200. That money is real, even when it comes out of your guests' pockets instead of yours.
Then add the drive. The hotel is 25 minutes from the venue. So you either pay for a shuttle, which can run $800 to $1,500 for the night, or everyone drives themselves home at midnight after an open bar. Neither one feels good.
And you lose the morning after. Everyone scatters to their own hotel breakfast. The weekend just ends.
What changes when the venue is the hotel
Now run the same weekend at a venue where the beds are included.
At Scarborough House, the $10,500 weekend package includes all 13 bedrooms, sleeps 28 overnight guests in standard bedroom beds, plus one bonus twin for 29 fixed overnight bed spaces people, Friday through Sunday. Grandma stays in the main house. The bridal party spreads out across the estate. Nobody drives anywhere after the sparkler send-off. Sunday morning there is brunch before anyone says goodbye.

Questions to ask any venue about sleeping
How many people can sleep on site, and is it included?
Some venues include lodging in the price. Some charge per room per night on top. Some have none at all. All three exist within an hour of us, at all kinds of prices. We lined them up on our venue price comparison page so you can see who sleeps how many.
Would it be crazy to ask who gets which room?
Not at all. Ask to walk the rooms on your tour. Couples booked with us plan room assignments right inside their couples portal. It takes ten minutes and ends every group text argument.
What about the guests who do not fit on site?
